Job summary

Westfall Technik, a growing plastic injection manufacturing company in the USA, invites a Project Engineer to join our New Haven site. You will plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing project engineering, with strong PM knowledge and a collaborative mindset to drive technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial project engineering.
  • Strong understanding of project management methods and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans with scope, deliverables, timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate milestones and ensure alignment with overall project strategy.
  • Act as technical liaison between clients, engineers and project management.
  • Provide engineering guidance across project phases and resolve design issues.
  • Maintain project documentation, reports and status updates.
  • Monitor budgets and resources; identify risks and mitigation actions.
  • Mentor junior engineers or technicians and assign tasks.
  • Support additional duties to meet operational priorities.

We are currently seeking Project Engineer, with the below qualifications:

Professional Attributes

Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing the technical and administrative aspects of multiple projects to ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality compliance. The Project Engineer serves as a key liaison between engineering teams, project managers, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring that all phases of a project are executed efficiently and in accordance with company standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Project Planning & Execution
    Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
    Schedule and coordinate project milestones, ensuring all tasks align with the overall project strategy.
  • 2. Team Collaboration & Communication
    Work closely with project managers, cross-functional engineering teams, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are clear.
    Serve as the primary technical liaison between clients, engineers, and project management to interpret client needs and field requirements.
  • 3. Technical Leadership & Support
    Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout all project phases.
    Solve Technical challenges and advise on engineering design strategies.
    Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions and deviations occur.
  • 4. Documentation and Quality Control
    Maintain comprehensive documentation including project plans, design documents, reports and regular status updates.
    Monitor project compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality guidelines.
    Oversee quality control on key aspects such as budget, schedule, design accuracy, and personnel performance.
  • 5. Budget & Resource Management
    Monitor and manage budgets, including tracking costs and ensuring financial objectives are met.
    Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to reduce project uncertainties.
  • 6. Stakeholder Engagement
    Provide regular status updates, reporting on progress, challenges, changes in scope, and the overall health of the project.
    Maintain proactive communication with clients to align expectations with deliverables.
  • 7. Team Leadership & Mentoring
    Assign responsibilities within the project team and mentor junior engineers or technicians.
  • 8. Other Duties as Assigned
    Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and meet operational priorities.
Exposure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial project engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, engineering principles, and manufacturing processes.
