Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced engineering leader to drive the design and development of Aircraft Navigation products in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. You will provide technical leadership, manage programs, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver inertial measurement units and navigation systems.

You will apply EVMS, DO-178/DO-254, and embedded system design expertise to shape architectures, test strategies, and schedules while building strong customer relationships and guiding product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM).
• 4+ years of design engineering or project leadership experience.
• Proficient in English (read/write/speak).
• U.S. citizen or eligible status in the U.S.
• Aircraft Navigation Product Line expertise.
• Experience in electronic system designs.
• Program management and EVMS experience.
• Familiarity with DO-178/DO-254 guidelines.
• Ability to lead with minimal supervision and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical leadership in design and development of complex engineering projects.
• Act as subject matter expert and drive technical excellence.
• Orchestrate teams for technical execution, risk management, and requirements for Defense Navigation products.
• Perform customer requirements analysis and feasibility assessments.
• Develop technical solutions, test strategies, architectures, test designs, and tests.
• Manage program cost, schedule, WBS, work allocation, planning and coordination.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders and their needs.
• Support new-business pursuits with technical inputs and BOEs.
• Develop and manage schedules and milestones.
• Manage customer relationships, budgets, metrics, risks, and project performance.
• Address project barriers and collaborate on roadmaps and product strategies.
• Develop aircraft navigation products including IMUs, inertial navigation systems, and aided systems.
• Travel up to 10% may be expected.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level technical leadership in the design and development of complex engineering projects
• Act as the subject matter expert and drive technical excellence
• Orchestrate teams for technical execution, technical risk management, and requirements management for customer missionizations and new Defense Navigation products
• Perform customer flow-down requirements analysis and feasibility assessments
• Develop technical solutions, test strategies, architectures, test designs, and tests
• Manage program cost, schedule, work breakdown structure, work allocation, planning, and coordination
• Manage internal and external stakeholders and their needs
• Provide technical support to Customer Business Managers and Technical Sales Directors during new-business pursuits
• Support proposal efforts, including development of BOEs
• Develop and manage schedules and milestones
• Manage customer relationships, budgets, metrics, risks, opportunities, and project performance
• Address project barriers
• Partner with engineers and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, define technology roadmaps, and improve engineering quality and productivity
• Develop aircraft navigation products including inertial measurement units, inertial navigation systems, and aided inertial navigation systems
• Travel up to 10% may be expected

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
• 4+ years of experience in design engineering or project leadership
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
• Aircraft Navigation Product Line expertise
• Technical domain knowledge in product development
• Experience in electronic system designs
• Program management skills
