Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ seeks a senior Project Engineer to lead Weather Radar CNS projects. You will drive cross-functional teams, define scope, oversee schedules and budgets, and mentor engineers throughout the program lifecycle.

You’ll apply EVMS, RCCA, and PMP practices to deliver FAA/EASA certified avionics on time and within budget, with domestic and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Minimum 10 years of project experience or technical CM role developing FAA/EASA certified commercial avionics systems in the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience with CNS products and PE processes.
  • Gold Level EVMS certification or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).
  • Ability to lead teams to fast, practical solutions using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing project requirements.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.
  • Able to travel to customer and internal Honeywell Aerospace meetings both domestic and international.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status under asylum or refugee status, or able to obtain an export authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in development of proposals, statements of work and associated cost estimates.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers and the program manager.
  • Define and implement project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Prepare schedules and resource forecasting in Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets using Earned Value Management metrics.
  • Lead risk management to identify and mitigate risks and issues affecting project delivery.
  • Control scope growth through baseline change management.
  • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and practices.
  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Report directly to the Director of Project Engineering.
  • Support Weather Radar engineering projects within Honeywell Aerospace’s CNS organization.

Job description
