Remote Project Electrical Engineer needed for a direct hire opportunity with Yoh's client located in Glen Allen, Virginia (VA), Lexington, Kentucky (KY), or Virginia Beach, Virginia (VA). Our client prefers a hybrid model of 3 days onsite. Candidates must reside in these locations.

Pay Rate: $110,000 - $130,000 per year depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Develop technical requirements for renovation and new construction projects, guiding design proposals through facility walkthroughs and stakeholder engagements.
• Create, review, and refine project documents including plans, BIM models, specifications, and statements of work.
• Conduct technical reviews of design packages from external firms and prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with data protection principles when handling sensitive information.

Skills Required

• Expertise in building design, including lighting, power, and telecommunications, with proficiency in building codes like NFPA 70 and ASHRAE 90.1.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles from design conception through construction.
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 8+ years of relevant experience; Professional Engineer License required.
• Experience in preparing construction plans and specifications for building projects.
• Experience performing lighting calculations, including emergency and exit lighting.
• Design experience with low voltage (600V) building power distribution systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Preferred: experience designing building telecommunications and electronic security systems, certifications like RCDD, LEED AP.
