Job summary

Fulcrum Reliability Systems is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead client projects from initiation through completion. You will align people, processes, and resources to deliver on time, within scope, and on budget across multiple disciplines.

The role requires strong command of project management methodologies, strategic thinking, and clear communication. Travel may be required in fast-paced environments, with emphasis on risk management and stakeholder updates.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technical project management in a complex critical infrastructure environment.
  • Experience in 24/7 critical operations.
  • Bachelor’s or higher in a technical field; Naval Nuclear Power School background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Deliver projects on schedule, within defined scope, and in accordance with approved budgets.
  • Develop detailed project scopes and objectives, ensuring stakeholder alignment, technical feasibility, and appropriate resource planning.
  • Implement structured change management processes to effectively control scope, schedule, and cost adjustments.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance using established systems, tools, and performance metrics.

Description

Fulcrum Reliability Systems is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful execution of key client projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for aligning people, processes, and resources to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of project management methodologies and best practices, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines. This individual is a strategic thinker, clear communicator, a team player with an aptitude for problem-solving who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple tasks. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Direct and coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Deliver projects on schedule, within defined scope, and in accordance with approved budgets.
  • Develop detailed project scopes and objectives, ensuring stakeholder alignment, technical feasibility, and appropriate resource planning.
  • Implement structured change management processes to effectively control scope, schedule, and cost adjustments.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance using established systems, tools, and performance metrics.

Stakeholder Communication & Risk Management

  • Establish clear communication channels and provide consistent, transparent updates to stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with third-party vendors and partners, leading collaboration efforts through meetings, reporting, and structured updates.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure accountability, traceability, and organizational alignment.

Requirements
  • B.Eng. or B.S. in a technical discipline, Naval Nuclear Power School graduate, or equivalent experience.
  • PMP or PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • 10+ years of technical project management or operations experience in a complex critical infrastructure environment.
  • Proven management experience in building scalable initiatives, defining roadmaps, and translating strategic initiatives into tactical, objective projects.
  • Experience working in 24/7 critical operations.
