Project Director, BRIDGE Program

Position Type: Administrative

Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities: The director coordinates, plans, and directs activities for theBRIDGE Program that will aid small businesses in training andpreparing proposals to take advantage of local, state, and federalcontracting opportunities; provide virtual and technical assistanceto potential and existing businesses in utilizing software, e.g.,QuickBooks, and equipment that maximizes the business owner'seconomic potential; assist in the development of sound creditenhancement and repair training to disadvantaged entrepreneurs;adhering to project time frames, funding limitations, procedures,and staffing requirements; overseeing budget and ensuring financialaccountability; developing work plans and staffing each phase ofthe project, and assigning project personnel; working with staff toassign duties, responsibilities; recognizing and solving potentialproblems; reviewing status reports prepared by project personneland implementing changes as needed; preparing project reports forvarious stakeholders; researching grant funding sources; developinggrant proposals; networking with local, state and national agenciesfor future program development.

Qualifications: The project director must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degreein Business or related field and five (5) years of businessdevelopment and technical assistance experience. Applicant musthave proven experience in managing complex projects and executingprojects on time and on budget. Must work independently and withminimal supervision. Must possess exceptional organizational,interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.Strong analytical and problem solving are a must.

Salary: Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and university'sresources.

Preferred Qualifications: Applicant should have proven experience in leading small businessesfrom startups, business expansion to next levels in business, andcompeting in the technology-based global society; applying for andutilizing resources from agencies such as the Small BusinessDevelopment Administration(SBA), United States Department ofAquiculture (USDA), Mississippi Development Authority (MDA);knowledge and experience in applying for local, state, and federalcontracts and procurement, navigating SBA, MDA, and financialinstitutions; managing complex projects and executing projects ontime and on budget. The applicant must work independently and withminimal supervision. Must possess exceptional organizational,interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.Must be proficient with MS office applications, video and remoteconferencing, social media integration techniques, and professionaltraining and conferences using zoom/duo/google meet, etc., andfamiliar with business software and technology
