Job summary

Kent is seeking a Project Director in Houston, TX to oversee initiatives from initiation to completion. You will plan, execute, and close projects within scope, budget, and schedule, collaborating with engineering teams, contractors, and clients for successful delivery.

The role requires 15+ years in project management within O&G or low-carbon energy, a PE license and potential PMP certification, with strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 15+ years relevant experience in project management for engineering/ client organizations in O&G or Low Carbon Energy Transition
• PMP certification is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering, PM, or related field; PE license preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
• Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead project teams in executing plans and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Monitor progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and expectations.
• Allocate resources efficiently and coordinate with HR to secure personnel for projects.
• Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Monitor budgets and financial performance; provide reports to management and clients.

Kent is looking for a Project Director who will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the projects from initiation to completion. This includes planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, budget, and schedule. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineering teams, contractors, and clients, to ensure successful project delivery.

Project Planning:

• Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
• Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Lead project teams in executing project plans and ensure adherence to established timelines and budgets.

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.
• Maintain effective communication channels with clients, contractors, and project teams.

Resource Management:

• Allocate resources efficiently and effectively to ensure project success.
• Coordinate with HR and project managers to secure necessary personnel for the project.

Quality Assurance:

• Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet or exceed industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications.

Financial Management:

• Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management and clients.

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

• Implement and enforce HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety audits and promote a culture of safety within the project team.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field and 15+ years relevant experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
• Significant related project management experience working for Engineering/Client organizations in the O&G industry and/or Low Carbon Energy Transition industry.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
