About the job:

Kent is looking for a Senior Director – Business Development that will be responsible for developing sales strategies to align with corporate and business unit objectives. You will be based in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for achieving sales targets within the USGC region by growing share through the sale of all product and service offerings
  • Focus on securing work with new clients as well as penetration and retention of existing customers
  • Develop sales strategy and account plan to penetrate and grow accounts while maintaining Kent KPI in relation to EBIT and cashflow
  • Coordinate internally on both proposal development, conducting presentations, negotiating pricing, and presenting the contract to close the sale
  • Research existing accounts, identifying opportunities for expanding product offerings and ensuring accounts are managed according to Kent’s business objectives
  • Possess understanding of key clients, market sectors as well as competition and understand value add Kent brings and how to promote and sell
  • Develop go‑to‑market plans for expansion, innovation, and brand initiatives
  • Meet sales quotas and other key sales objectives as established by the executive management team
  • Bring network of working relationships from U.S. client base

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad‑hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Knowledge / Qualification / Training / Certification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering preferred, MBA desired
  • At least 15 years’ experience in business development of engineering and construction projects services and/or industry work experience in a technical position across the USGC and the Americas
  • Proven track record of success with key clients and experience establishing new clients through contact, research, and networking
  • Proven record of pursuing and winning complex EPC, commissioning, and/or consulting contracts across the full project lifecycle
  • Familiarity with energy markets, including oil & gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables, power, and low‑carbon solutions across the Americas
  • Demonstrated experience in senior level client engagement, strategic partnerships, and commercial negotiations
  • Proficient in Salesforce and PowerPoint as well as understanding basic commercial elements of the bid process
Communication:
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills required
  • Must be able to understand, develop, and communicate complex commercial strategy to senior leadership (internal and external)

  • Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong ability to negotiate commercially as well as strong technical background
