Peak Power Inc. is seeking a Project Development Manager, Energy Storage, to lead the delivery of its electric asset portfolio.
Reporting to the COO, you will define project calendars, manage deliverables, and ensure milestones in ISO markets and energy storage initiatives are met with operational excellence. You will drive collaboration across EPCs, utilities, and internal teams to optimize performance, reporting, and governance while supporting Peak Power’s growth in storage assets and related
Reporting to the COO the Project Development Manager will be pivotal in driving the execution and delivery of day-to-day operations of Peak’s electric asset portfolio. You will lead the project initiation in the delivery system, defining the project calendar and work breakdown structure, and defining deliverable acceptance and reporting procedures. You willleverageyour understanding of Independent Electricity Systems Operator (ISO) electricity markets, energy storage, and power systems toestablishthe processes to support the delivery of operational excellence develop and position Peak’s electric asset portfolio.
You have excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills to ensure operational performance targets and project milestones are met or exceeded.
Define and document RFPs and scope of work packages for 3rd party EPC firms. Participate in EPC selection and contract negotiation.
Conduct due diligence on potential projects, evaluate the suitabilityofidentifiedsitesandparticipatein due diligence review and analysis of various reports (i.e.environmental, geo-tech, etc.)
Define in advance the acceptance criteria for each project deliverable, works with the team to establish delivery dates for each deliverable, and oversee the review of client deliverables to ensure they meet all client acceptance criteria, securing sign-off on each deliverable as defined in the SOW
You willmonitorand report on progress, methodically evaluate processes and systems to improve efficiency; and implement processes that provide transparency and tracking
Lead project status update meetings with management, utilities, EPCs, and finance counterparties,facilitatingdiscussions with a detailed project plan and high-level status dashboard.
Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders and project financing needs
Review and manage EPC Contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, andpermitcompliance
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective operations that require input, buy-in, and execution across multiple departments, as well as customer and stakeholder communications.
Maintain and develop relations with Battery OEM and balance of plant vendors
Manage engagements with project stakeholders and act as a company representative for interactions with landowners, local governmental agencies, customers, contractors, equipment and materials suppliers, and other stakeholders
Coordinate activities of an internal team of project engineering, construction management, commissioning, procurement, asset management, legal, finance, and accounting staff, as well as deliverables of EPC Contractor, project stakeholders, and regulatory andpermittingauthorities
You are a critical thinker who can seize opportunities to create value towards Peak Power’s long-term vision foroptimizingpowerutilizationand energy storage. You will proactivelyidentifyopportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, and scalability and contribute to Peak Power’s electric asset portfolio growth.
5-7+ years of professional experience in a project development or related role
3-5+ Years of Experience in developing and constructing behind and in front of the meter energy storage projects. Experience in wind & solar projects is an asset
Familiarity with battery storage design and technical standards as well as civil and structural technical knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skill
Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred
Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive-level reporting that ensure timely action and decision-making in time-pressured scenarios.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
Knowledge of NFPA 855 & UL 9540
Proficiencyin MS project and Office Suite

Our total compensation package includes a competitive salary, comprehensive health and wellness benefits, paid time off,Sales Commission Plan, participation in the organization’s equity incentive plan, along withadditionalperksdesigned to support your well-being and professional growth. The base salary range for this role is$90,000 - 130,000, which reflects differences in experience, skills, and qualifications that candidates may bring to the position.
