Our company is part of EDP, a global energy group present in around 30 markets with a particular emphasis on renewable energies. With more than 13,000 employees around the world, we are committed to using our energy and heart to drive a better tomorrow.

Role Overview:

The Asset Management Associate will support commercial oversight for operating and late-development renewable generation assets in the assigned region, typically between 800 and 2,000 MW, and help ensure commercial and governmental obligations are met. The role will support budget planning and tracking, performance oversight, market knowledge development, and execution of the asset management framework across assigned projects.

Additional responsibilities include supporting the management of commercial relationships with wind, solar, and storage OEMs and O&M service providers, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and assisting with analyses and issue resolution that improve asset performance and reduce risk exposure.

Main responsibilities:
  • Support project profit and loss (P&L) activities for assigned assets by tracking performance, identifying gaps, and helping develop recommendations to address budget or operational variances.
  • Assist with the development of project-level annual budgets and longer-term business plans in collaboration with Asset Operations, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Perform budget analyses, including variance reporting and reforecast support, and provide explanations regarding financial and operational performance compared with budget and targets.
  • Update operational financial estimates on an ongoing basis in collaboration with Operations and Finance.
  • Facilitate service agreements and support contract execution by working with Procurement and Legal.
  • Interface with Operations and Performance Management teams, equipment OEMs, and service providers on routine operational issues and initiatives to improve operational and financial performance and reduce risk exposure.
  • Support commercial efforts toward resolution of significant agreement issues that arise from project operations, including equipment warranties, O&M agreements, leases, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and related contracts.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve material issues affecting operational projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders and tracking agreed actions through completion.
  • Support portfolio-level initiatives designed to improve fleet performance by helping facilitate solutions with input from other groups and tracking execution of those solutions.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses of historical and forward-looking asset performance and support the development of business cases and decision-support materials for management.
  • Track and manage obligations and activities to ensure commercial and governmental requirements are met, including key milestones within major agreements such as TSA, warranty, LTSA, O&M, PPA, tax equity, landowner, and interconnection agreements.
  • Contribute to development and refinement of operational and asset management strategies.
  • Support transition activities for new projects moving from construction into operations, including tracking PPA, LGIA, ISO, financing, and other operational readiness requirements.
  • Support Portfolio Management reporting to financing and equity partners by providing commentary, estimates, and insights on asset performance and commercial developments.
  • Work with other Asset Management staff and Accounting personnel to ensure reporting obligations are met in a timely manner.
  • Create and develop market knowledge of regional electricity markets and work with Regulatory and Compliance teams as required.
  • Communicate with market balancing authorities and reliability entities as needed.
  • Notify relevant staff and help resolve issues when milestones are delinquent or trigger events occur.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure appropriate asset management processes and tasks are in place to improve facility performance and limit risk exposure.
