Job description

Are you a high-performing sales professional who thrives on turning possibilities into reality? Do you love guiding homeowners through transformative remodeling journeys that truly elevate how they live?

At Murphy Bros. Design|Build|Remodel, we've spent over 43 years redefining what it means to improve a home—not just making it different, but making life better. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a driven, relationship-focused Project Developer to join our sales team and help bring our clients' visions to life.

As a Project Developer, you'll be the first point of contact for new clients, responding promptly to leads and guiding them through our proprietary four-step sales process. You'll run sales calls, conduct site visits, and work closely with clients, trade partners, and our internal design and estimating team to build scopes of work, budgets, plans, 3D renderings, material selections, and contracts—then stay engaged as a trusted partner throughout the construction phase.

The Project Developer gives homeowners a remodeling experience that moves at their pace—steady and carefully planned at every step, with just the right amount of guidance and collaboration.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Sales & Client Relationships
  • Respond promptly to new leads and execute consultative sales techniques
  • Guide clients through Murphy Bros.' proprietary sales process
  • Recommend remodeling solutions that genuinely solve clients' needs
  • Set and hit annual sales and gross margin goals, and meet prescribed closing ratios
Estimating & Trade Partner Coordination
  • Solicit, collect, and review trade partner bids
  • Develop accurate cost estimates and maintain estimated-to-actual job cost accuracy
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with trade partners throughout the project
Construction Documents & Design Collaboration
  • Assemble and create well-written contracts and scopes of work
  • Create, or provide direction on, construction plans
  • Ensure project plans, budgets, bids, selections, and scope stay in alignment
  • Bring design acumen and intuition to the table and collaborate with our design team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 10+ years of experience in residential remodeling, estimating, design, and/or project management
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education and trade certifications preferred
  • A proven track record of success in sales
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, techniques, and costs, plus familiarity with building codes and regulations
  • Ability to read blueprints, analyze project requirements, and develop accurate cost estimates
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
WHAT DRIVES US

Everything we do is guided by our core values — and we're looking for a Project Developer who shares them:

  • Uncommon Integrity — It's what you do when no one is looking, and what you promise to do when they are.
  • Get It Done with Great Care — We're committed to finishing the job, and finishing it well.
  • Take Ownership — We don't wait to be told; we see what needs doing and step forward.
  • Glad to See Ya! — We hire people who are easy to work with, bring solutions, and listen more than they talk.
