Job summary

Alterman Management Group, Inc is seeking a Project Designer in Austin, TX. You will work with Project Managers and field supervision to ensure successful project completion, participating in design, pre-planning for pre-fabrication, and administrative tasks as assigned by the Installation Planning Manager.

Qualifications

• Able to read, interpret and understand contract documents, plans, specifications, and requirements.
• Must have working knowledge of electrical systems, appropriate codes, and industry standards.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge of current National Electrical Codes as well as local and state electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Researches plans, specs, codes, and contract documents to ensure design requirements are met.
• Identifies pre-fabrication opportunities and coordinates with manufacturing.
• Inputs tasks into Manufacturing Schedule.
• Coordinates with contractors and subcontractors to develop project schedules.
• Prepares branch power layout and basic lighting layout with controls and in-wall rough-in layouts.
• Coordinates Trimble point layouts with BIM Technicians for model entry.
• Distributes drawings to field and coordinates with logistics and on-site foreman.
• Builds BOMs and coordinates with Purchasing for material orders.
• Creates equipment directories and labeling.
