Job summary

Stoffer Home Cabinetry is seeking an experienced design and project manager to lead cabinetry projects from concept to completion. You will conduct client consultations, draft precise floor plans in AutoCAD LT, and coordinate with design staff to ensure accurate product selection and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers, detailing construction documents, and maintaining strong client relationships while guiding projects through the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-end residential cabinetry design and/or project management.
• Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and build client relationships.
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD (AutoCAD LT preferred).
• Knowledge of SketchUp and 3D modeling tools.
• Proficient with modern technology to design and manage project data.

Job description

Work under the direction of SHC Director to guide all aspects in the development, design, and delivery of every SHC cabinetry design project from inception to completion, including collaborating with Senior Designer(s) and overseeing work of the Design Assistant(s) during the design process. Establish and maintain a complete understanding of the SHC tailored lines of cabinetry, developed by Jean Stoffer and the Stoffer Home Cabinetry team, serving our valued clients with integrity.

• Client Consultation: Lead initial and ongoing client meetings to listen to project desires, assess spatial requirements, present design options, and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Drive Ongoing Design Discovery: Lead client follow-up consultations to evaluate evolving spatial requirements, resolve design challenges, and seamlessly integrate new client preferences into the overall project scope.
• Manage Stakeholder Alignment: Spearhead clear, proactive communication across all project collaborators to ensure seamless execution from concept to completion.
• Project Oversight: Manage Stoffer Home Cabinetry projects across the entire project lifecycle, from initial schematic design through final construction administration.
• Detailed Cabinetry Drafting: Develop comprehensive floor plans and elevations in AutoCAD LT adhering strictly to SHC standards.
• Curate Hardware & Lighting Schemes: Direct the selection of hardware and lighting schedules, strategically pairing Stoffer Home products to elevate and enhance custom cabinetry designs.
• Lead Design Iterations & Revisions: Lead the refinement of design development packages and construction documents, translating client feedback and field adjustments into precise, production-ready drawings.
• Develop Quotes: Develop precise, comprehensive project quotes using dedicated SHC pricing software and labeling conventions, ensuring accurate financial scopes for approval.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary trusted advisor to clients, delivering high-touch communication, managing expectations, and maintaining exceptional service standards throughout the complete project lifecycle.
• Oversee Appliance Integration & Technical Accuracy: Oversee the integration of appliance specifications, verifying opening dimensions and custom panel fits for seamless cabinetry integration.
• CAD Consultation: Partner with the Design Assistant on plan production, providing technical direction and reviewing drawing sets for accuracy.
• Order Placement & Quality Control: Review manufacturer work orders alongside the Design Assistant to ensure precision, then place and track orders with SHC manufacturers.
• Direct Cabinetry Procurement & Order Tracking: Oversee order placement with Stoffer Home Cabinetry manufacturers and actively monitor production timelines to safeguard project schedules and uphold brand standards.
• Installation Package Review: Review installation packages for approval, serving as the primary point of contact for technical questions on site.
• Drive Process Optimization: Proactively spearhead workflow enhancements, resolve complex projects to ensure smooth installations.
• Professional Growth & Process Execution: Actively participate in training initiatives, mastering SHC cabinetry standards, software tools, and ordering procedures to take on increasingly complex project tasks.

Supervision Received:

Low Supervision: Manage assigned responsibilities with a high degree of autonomy, adhering to company standards and proactively seeking Senior Designer input when navigating complex issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience:

• Background in high-end residential cabinetry design and/or project management required.
• Documented track record of delivering excellent customer service and building positive, long-term client relationships.
• Proven ability to communicate and build strong relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and values.
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD (or similar CAD software); experience with AutoCAD LT preferred.
• Knowledge of SketchUp and 3D modeling tools preferred.
• Skilled in using modern technology to design, manage project data, and resolve technical issues.
