Job summary

Sustainable Solutions of Virginia is seeking a Cabinet Designer & Selections Coordinator to lead cabinetry projects from start to finish. You’ll meet clients, take precise field measurements, create designs in Design Flex and Revit, and place orders while coordinating with vendors and production teams.

You’ll collaborate with Owners, Project Managers, Office Manager, Bookkeeper, and cabinet makers. Training is provided; on-site work and field visits are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Design Flex or similar CAD software is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to quickly learn Design Flex and Revit to produce all cabinetry plans, renderings and elevations. Training will be provided.
• Have a high level of precision in manual field measurements and have the ability to read standard architectural blueprints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage client expectations and coordinate clearly across trades, office and field staff.
• Takes full accountability for setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and solving field issues independently.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple project schedules, material lead times, and client revisions in close collaboration with both office and field staff.

Responsibilities

• Produce complete space plans, elevation drawings, and photo-realistic 3D renderings using Design Flex and Revit.
• Conduct accurate on-site field measurements to verify accuracy prior to ordering.
• Prepare detailed cabinet orders, final plans, and elevations. Coordinate lead times with Project Managers to align with production schedules.
• Meet and communicate with clients to determine project scope, functional needs, and to guide them through cabinet and countertop selections.
• Act as the main point of contact for countertop fabricators. Draft layouts and quotes, schedule template/install dates, and coordinate lead times with Project Managers to align with production schedules.
• Check incoming cabinet deliveries for damage, missing hardware, or factory defects before they go out to the job site and manage all warranties.
• Work with Project Managers and our Cabinet Makers to ensure buildability and seamless installation.
• Work with the Office Manager and Bookkeeper on client quotes, design contracts, ordering, invoicing, and change orders.

About the Role

Sustainable Solutions is looking for a highly organized, and self-motivated individual to take on our Cabinet Designer & Selections Coordinator position. In this role, you’ll be the main point of contact for our cabinetry projects from start to finish. You’ll meet with clients, take precise field measurements, build out designs and place orders in Design Flex, work with our vendors, and make sure everything goes smoothly through final installation.

This position requires close collaboration with our internal team, including our Owners, Project Managers, Office Manager, Bookkeeper, and in-house Cabinet Makers. Experience is preferred but not necessary. Training will be available.

Annual Compensation $45k-$60k based on experience. We offer health insurance, Simple IRA with company matching, paid holidays and vacation, and a great work environment.
