Job summary

Deloitte’s AI & Engineering team is seeking a Senior DevOps professional to design, implement, and secure modern software delivery pipelines across cloud and hybrid environments. You will automate deployments, strengthen application security controls, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve deployment speed, quality, and resilience.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with AWS, Python, Bash, and GitHub/GitLab-based workflows, plus containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or computer engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years in DevSecOps across cloud or hybrid environments.
  • 8+ years in cloud/security/software engineering.
  • 4+ years with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, SonarQube, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins).
  • 4+ years with AWS/Azure/GCP and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
  • 4+ years integrating security testing into CI/CD pipelines; automation with Python/Bash.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Develop Python and Bash automation to support deployment orchestration, security testing, and reporting.
  • Apply cloud security practices across IAM, network security, encryption, logging, and remediation.
  • Configure and administer GitHub repositories, branching strategies, PR workflows, and containerized delivery with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate application security tools into the SDLC and troubleshoot pipeline and environment issues.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will help clients design, automate, and secure modern software delivery environments. You will build and maintain tools that scan source code, application dependencies, infrastructure configurations, and container images, while integrating application security controls into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. You will work across development, cloud, platform, and cybersecurity teams to improve the speed, quality, and security of application deployments. The role requires strong hands-on experience with AWS, Python, Bash, CI/CD pipeline engineering, and GitHub-based development workflows. Work you'll do As a PROJECT - Engineering Delivery Manager II on the Government & Public Services Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for: Design, build, and maintain secure continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery across cloud and hybrid environments. Develop Python and Bash automation to support deployment orchestration, environment validation, security testing, remediation workflows, and operational reporting. Apply cloud security practices across identity and access management, network security, encryption, logging, monitoring, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation. Configure and administer GitHub repositories, branching strategies, pull request workflows, automated actions, and containerized delivery processes using Docker and Kubernetes. Integrate application security tools into the software development lifecycle, support remediation of security findings, and troubleshoot pipeline, deployment, security control, and environment issues. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or computer engineering, or equivalent professional experience 8+ years of experience implementing DevSecOps practices across cloud or hybrid environments and 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, security engineering, or software engineering 8+ years of experience building or administering continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using GitLab CI, SonarQube, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins 4+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible 4+ years of experience integrating application security testing, dependency scanning, secrets scanning, or container security controls into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and experience developing automation using Python and Bash Active Secret security clearance required Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Preferred: Experience with Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), Docker, and Kubernetes Experience with vulnerability management, cloud security posture management, or security orchestration tools Experience applying National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), or Zero Trust frameworks in public sector environments Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Security, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), HashiCorp Terraform Associate, or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
