Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Government & Public Services GPS practice in the United States. You will assist development teams, design and build software systems, and ensure delivery across sprints and longer deployments with Agile methodologies.

Qualified candidates have a BS in CS/Engineering/MIS and 2+ years of full-stack experience using modern languages and cloud environments, plus DB expertise and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MIS.
  • At least 2 years of full-stack software development experience.
  • 2+ years using Modern Full Stack languages (Java, Python, React, Angular, etc.).
  • Experience in cloud or serverless environments.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Postgres, SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Willingness to travel ~15%.

Responsibilities

  • Assist development teams in delivering technical solutions using SDLC, Scrum, and Agile.
  • Design, develop, and enhance software systems and components.
  • Analyze requirements, system flows, data usage, and performance standards to define designs.
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and develop test procedures.
  • Plan, track, and manage deliverables across sprints and long-term deployments.

As a Software Engineer II on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for:

Assist development teams in delivering technical solutions using software development life cycle methodologies, including Scrum and Agile

Design, develop, and enhance software systems and custom components using modern development tools and frameworks

Analyze user requirements, system flows, data usage, and performance standards to define technical designs and identify problem areas

Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and develop and execute test procedures for software components

Plan, track, and manage deliverables across short-term sprints and long-term software deployments

Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Management Information Systems

2+ years of full-stack software development experience

2+ years of experience with Modern Full Stack languages (Java, Python, React, Angular, etc.)

Experience orchestrating in cloud and/or serverless environments

Experience with Relational and Non-relational DBs (Postgres, SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)

Ability to travel 15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:
Experience with Gen AI, Agentic AI, ML/NLP environments and tools
Major Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
AI related certifications (Anthropic, Github, etc.)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certificates; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,500 to $170,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
