Job description

At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Delivery Leader in Traffic to support existing clients and develop new business firm-wide. As a senior member of our firmwide development team, you will lead various pursuits and projects related to transportation, focusing on traffic analysis and design engineering across RK&K's service areas.

This role can be remote with required travel to project sites as needed.

Essential Functions

• Perform transportation planning studies, traffic operations analysis, and traffic engineering design plans.
• Support projects across all modes of travel, including highway, bus, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian environments.
• Develop traffic reports and present findings professionally to clients both on-site and virtually.
• Prepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, signals, signage, pavement markings, and ITS.
• Use traffic analysis tools like Synchro, VISSIM, and SimTraffic for modeling and simulations.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Facilitate meetings and presentations with internal teams and clients.
• Manage project staff and sub-consultants.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and the firm.
• Ensure quality assurance and control of design work.
• Apply engineering judgment and initiative within traffic engineering.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
• Knowledge of Highway Safety Manual, Highway Capacity Manual, and AASHTO guidelines.
• Proficiency with Synchro, VISSIM, and SimTraffic software.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience designing traffic control devices using MUTCD standards.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• MSCE certification.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) designation.
• Experience working in multiple states.
