Job summary

M3 Engineering & Technology in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Cost Controller to support the Manager of Cost Control. The role focuses on generating and maintaining project cash flow, producing forecasts, and processing project accounts payable invoices.

Candidates should have an Associate degree in accounting/finance or related field, at least two years of experience, proficiency in MS Office, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to project sites. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Job description

Position Summary: This position reports to the Manager of the Cost Control Department.

Basic Duties:

• Generate and maintain project cash flow.
• Develop and produce a project forecast.
• Process accounts payable invoices for projects, responsible for the input and reporting using various software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data entry problems and generate and issue a detailed comprehensive monthly cost report in accordance with established reporting dates.
• Develop cost reports, export data and prepare query spreadsheets from databases for analysis.
• Provide cost and project analysis to project management.
• Assist with the review of contract vendor invoices and preparation of data input documents including cost coding.

Minimum Qualifications:

• An Associates’ degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years experience in Accounting, Engineering, or related field required.
• Must be proficient in MS office.
• Ability to handle projects with tight deadlines.
• Candidate must be able to travel, domestically & internationally, to other M3 offices and project sites to provide field support for new and ongoing projects.
• Must be able to work in a project team and maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detailed-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
• Must be able to interact with clients and co-workers in a professional and respectful manner and work in a team environment sharing roles and responsibilities, with limited supervision.
• Valid passport or the ability to obtain one is required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience providing construction management or project management services, and or EPCM is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
