Job summary

Ideal Steel, LLC in Detroit, MI is seeking a Job Cost Accountant to ensure accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of project-related financial transactions. You will support project profitability by proper cost allocation, accurate vendor invoicing, and reliable data for management decisions.

You will work with Project Managers, Operations, Procurement and Finance to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and job cost accounting duties including account maintenance and reconciliations.
• Process vendor payment requests and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Monitor PO-related job costs for accuracy and proper allocation.
• Support month-end and year-end close with documentation and records.
• Investigate discrepancies with project teams and vendors to resolve issues.
• Assist with project cost reporting, variance analysis, and WIP reporting.
