FDA Office of Cosmetics and Colors (OCAC) is the office responsible for the regulatory oversight of
cosmetic products marketed in the US. OCAC evaluates the post-market safety of cosmetic
ingredients and products that may pose a public health concern and provides scientific support for
possible enforcement actions.
Planning and Development
- Serve as an advisor and technical lead, providing services in the planning, development, execution, implementation, and related oversight of cross-cutting projects.
- Select and apply appropriate project management methodologies, processes, or tools — such as Lean Six Sigma and Smartsheet — to advance the organization's strategic goals.
- Serve as an advisor for planning key project milestones.
- Facilitate focus groups for leadership to support near- and long-term operational goals for OCAC/COS.
Project Reports
- Prepare a variety of comprehensive status reports, management summaries, and briefing papers that identify problems, assess the overall condition of work completed or in progress, and outline issues, solutions, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with leadership and staff to develop new policies and procedures that ensure performance goals continue to align with the overall agency mission.
Requirements
RequiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated experienceserving as a technical lead or advisor on cross-functional or cross-cuttingproject teams.
- Working knowledge ofproject management methodologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Lean Six Sigma,Smartsheet, PMBOK).
- Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills, with the ability to assess project status and recommendcorrective action.
- Excellent written andverbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-levelstatus reports, summaries, and briefing papers.
- Ability to facilitatemeetings and focus groups with senior leadership.
- Experience developing orcontributing to organizational policies and standard operating procedures.
