Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator III to support a fast paced engineering organization working on cutting edge AR hardware and display technology. This role will partner closely with program managers, technical leads, engineers, suppliers, logistics, finance, and purchasing teams to coordinate engineering development activities, prototype builds, international shipments, schedules, and deliverables.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of project management, international shipping and logistics, and Jira experience within an engineering development environment. Experience supporting consumer electronics, hardware development, NPI, or other complex engineering programs is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with program managers, technical leads, and engineers to organize and coordinate multiple engineering workstreams
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, documentation, plans, milestones, and deliverables
  • Track prototype builds, engineering activities, dependencies, risks, action items, and overall project progress
  • Manage international shipping, receiving, logistics, and shipment tracking, with particular emphasis on time sensitive prototype and sample shipments
  • Utilize Jira to track engineering development activities, tasks, and deliverables
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and development partners, including tracking SOWs, proposals, quotations, orders, and deliveries
  • Partner with finance and purchasing teams to onboard suppliers and support procurement activities
  • Collect project information and create dashboards and presentations for stakeholder review
  • Assist engineering teams with development documentation and project artifacts
  • Maintain internal project websites and documentation
  • Capture meeting notes, decisions, action items, and follow up activities
  • Work across a large cross functional organization that includes hardware engineering, logistics, finance, accounting, and external suppliers
Must Have Skills

International Shipping and Logistics: Hands on experience coordinating international shipping, logistics, and receiving. Experience supporting shipments involving Asia is highly preferred.

Jira for Engineering Development: Experience using Jira to manage and track engineering development activities, schedules, tasks, and deliverables.

Project Management: Strong experience coordinating complex programs, schedules, stakeholders, dependencies, and deliverables within a fast moving environment.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor's degree or education in a related field
  • 3 or more years of program or project management experience
  • Experience building work breakdown structures and supporting schedule and resource planning
  • Ability to construct schedules from the ground up without an established baseline
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, priorities, and workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self starter who can operate independently with limited guidance
  • Strong cross functional communication skills and the ability to proactively gather information from multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment where urgent requests and priorities can shift quickly
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NPI and new consumer hardware development
  • Understanding of the design and development lifecycle for consumer electronic products
  • Experience supporting cross functional engineering teams
  • Hardware experience within major technology companies or adjacent industries such as aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing
  • Experience supporting international suppliers or development partners in Asia
  • Experience with Excel, dashboards, project documentation, and reporting

This position provides the opportunity to support smart glasses and AR hardware programs, with exposure to cutting edge display technology that is central to future AR products. The contractor will work closely with engineering and cross functional teams while gaining experience within a rapidly growing AR ecosystem. There may also be potential for conversion to a full time position depending on individual performance and business needs.

This is a fast paced environment where international shipments can be high priority and require urgency and proactive follow through. The role supports a large cross functional engineering organization and requires someone who communicates clearly, asks questions when needed, and stays ahead of critical deliverables. Some flexibility in working hours is required because meetings may occasionally occur earlier or later than standard Pacific Time business hours.

Role type: Contract 12+ Month Position
