Job summary

Linda Werner & Associates is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to support a cutting-edge Research Audio team focused on spatial audio capture and emerging audio technologies.

You will partner with researchers, engineers, and technical leads to manage multiple R&D workstreams from planning through completion, bringing structure, visibility, and momentum to complex projects.

This contract role offers a collaborative environment with defined milestones and close interaction with leadership.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a hands on Project Manager to support a cutting edge Research Audio team focused on spatial audio capture and emerging audio technologies.

This role will partner closely with researchers, engineers, and technical leads to manage multiple R&D workstreams from planning through completion. The Project Manager will bring structure and visibility to complex technical projects through sprint planning, project tracking, documentation, stakeholder reporting, risk management, and procurement support.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, technically curious, and comfortable working in a fast paced research environment where priorities may evolve as teams experiment and prototype.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage multiple R&D projects from planning through completion
  • Drive sprint based planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Maintain project plans, task boards, schedules, documentation, action items, and deliverables
  • Track project progress, dependencies, risks, gaps, and blockers
  • Provide regular status updates and concise project summaries to stakeholders and management
  • Partner closely with researchers, engineers, technical leads, and other cross functional teams
  • Proactively identify issues and coordinate resolution to keep projects moving
  • Support procurement of research equipment and external vendor services
  • Coordinate program meetings, activities, documentation, and follow up
  • Support day to day operational needs across a highly collaborative research team
What We’re Looking For
  • 3 to 5+ years of project management experience
  • Experience supporting technical, engineering, research, or product development teams
  • Strong experience with sprint based project planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Experience maintaining project plans, task boards, schedules, risks, dependencies, and project documentation
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross functional communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex project information into clear updates for technical teams and leadership
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast moving environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Computer Science, Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting research or R&D programs
  • Familiarity with spatial audio, binaural audio, audio signal processing, or audio technology
  • Experience supporting UX studies or research programs
  • Familiarity with Matlab, Python, C++, Max/MSP, or similar technical tools
  • Experience with technical demonstrations, events, or demo coordination
  • Interest or experience in audio production, mixing, performance, or related audio disciplines
