Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years admin, project coordination, or operations support experience.
  • Solar, electrical, construction, or renewable energy experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.

Solar Project Coordinator

Are you highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in renewable energy? Current Electric is seeking a Solar Project Coordinator to coordinate the administrative and operational activities that keep our solar projects organized and moving forward.

This role is ideal for someone who can manage projects through multiple stages, maintain accurate documentation, anticipate next steps, and communicate effectively with both internal and external partners. You will work closely with Project Managers, the sales team, field technicians, customers, utilities, inspectors, and local jurisdictions to coordinate project requirements from initial handoff through final closeout.

The Big Tasks of a Solar Project Coordinator

The Solar Project Coordinator helps move residential and commercial solar projects from initial handoff through completion. This position coordinates documentation, inspections, utility requirements, rebate submissions, monitoring activities, and communication among customers, field teams, Project Managers, utilities, and local jurisdictions.

The Solar Project Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate project records, tracking deadlines and outstanding requirements, identifying potential delays, and ensuring each project reaches the next stage efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate assigned solar projects from initial handoff through final documentation and closeout.
  • Serve as a central point of communication for project updates, requirements, and outstanding action items.
  • Create and maintain pre-job and post-job folders for solar projects.
  • Organize project documentation, including specification sheets, drawings, permits, inspection records, utility documents, and related materials.
  • Maintain accurate project records and complete project closeout documentation in Google Drive and other company systems.
  • Prepare and submit Focus on Energy rebate documentation for residential and commercial projects.
  • Schedule disconnects, reconnects, final inspections, Diggers Hotline services, and private utility locates.
  • Track project milestones, inspections, deadlines, utility requirements, and outstanding action items.
  • Identify potential delays or missing information and elevate concerns to the appropriate Project Manager.
  • Communicate project updates and requirements to customers, team members, utilities, inspectors, and local jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate project handoffs among sales, operations, field teams, and Project Managers.
  • Perform weekly monitoring checks for Solar Service Plan members.
  • Build and maintain customer monitoring sites.
  • Assist field technicians with basic monitoring and system troubleshooting.
  • Provide pre-sale support using Aurora, including preparing or updating designs and proposals.
  • Complete biweekly T-Sheets administration and review.
  • Attend and support company trade shows, farmers markets, and industry events throughout the year.
  • Support process improvements that strengthen project organization, communication, and efficiency.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of administrative, project coordination, or operations support experience preferred.
  • Solar, electrical, construction, or renewable energy experience is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, deadlines, documentation, and communication across multiple parties.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.
  • Ability to identify missing information, anticipate next steps, and keep work moving forward.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with customers and external partners.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and general office technology.
  • Experience with Aurora, T-Sheets, ServiceTitan, or project-management software is a plus.
  • Ability to learn technical systems, terminology, and processes.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and willing to support the team where needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to attend occasional off-site trade shows and events.
