Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the Site Manager with Decontamination and Decommissioning activities at Bettis Laboratory for the Naval Reactors Program. You will coordinate schedules, manage task priorities, maintain project records, and ensure compliance with DOE and contractual requirements.

As a team member, you will collaborate with Project Management, Radiological Controls Supervisors, Operations Supervisors, and Project Engineers to plan, execute, and close out work

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in the field demonstrating increased levels of management/supervisory experience on large, complex projects involving radioactive and/or hazardous waste generation and disposal.
  • Prior Naval Reactors Program experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen; no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE 'L' Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the daily Plan of the Day (POD), open items for on-going work.
  • Provide administrative support for project operations, including document control, meeting coordination, action item tracking, reporting, onboarding support, and maintenance of project records.
  • Serve as the Government Property Administrator, maintaining accountability and control of government-furnished property and equipment, conducting inventories, tracking asset transfers and disposition actions, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Initial work planning/scoping with Operations and Engineering to provide a resource loaded schedule and cost estimate for every task.
  • Assist interface with LOTO, electrical outages and scheduling work.
  • Interface with Buyer planning personnel.
  • Oversee all planning of work tasks to ensure preparations, execution, and closeout documentation of work area satisfactory.
  • Oversee project procurement activities.

This position is responsible for coordinating project activities and supporting program administration in accordance with Naval Reactors and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, demolition of buildings, and characterization of site-infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and construction.

Job Overview

The Project Coordinator provides direct support to the Site Manager for execution of Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) activities at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in support of the Naval Reactors Program. This position is responsible for coordinating project activities and supporting program administration in accordance with Naval Reactors and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, demolition of buildings, and characterization of site-infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and construction.

This position responsible for formulating schedules, coordinating task priorities as established by the customer and close coordination with engineering and production work.

This individual must work closely as a team member with Project Management, Radiological Controls Supervisors, Operations Supervisors and Project Engineers to support a consistent approach to the planning and performance of project managed work.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  • Maintain the daily Plan of the Day (POD), open items for on-going work.

Basic Qualifications

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
