Job summary

Underground Construction Co., Inc. seeks a project coordinator in California to support the project manager and field team with scheduling, documentation, and workflow management.

The role requires travel to job sites, strong communication, cost tracking, and the ability to coordinate vendors, subcontractors, and field staff to keep projects on time and within budget. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in a project coordinator role or related field.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook Email.
  • Time management and project management skills.
  • Travel to job sites as needed; valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Support project coordinators to ensure administrative activities are completed for the division.
  • Assist with timecards, materials tracking, mark for locates, daily reports, scheduling, cost control, change-order tracking, vendor and subcontractor tracking, client billing, and pay invoices.
  • Assist the project team with the preparation of bid documentation and helps to prepare for bid reviews.
  • Meet work standards by following productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, resolving operational problems, and identifying work process improvements as necessary.
  • Help meet cost standards by monitoring expenses, implementing cost-saving actions.
  • Updates job knowledge by going to the field, participating in educational opportunities, and getting to know/understand the division.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned

Overview

A project coordinator handles administrative tasks for the project manager and team members to keep the project running smoothly. This may include ordering equipment and supplies, managing deadlines and workflow, and scheduling meetings and appointments.

*** Travel is Required for this role. This role includes California travel, working in and around Construction job sites, and at times may include overnight travel. Must be open to this requirement.

Qualifications
  • Associates or bachelor's preferred, not required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a project coordinator role or related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reasoning ability, including problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office and Outlook Email
  • Time Management and project management skills
  • Travel requirements to job sites as needed
    • Must be able to maintain a valid driver's license if travelling

Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business needs

Experience working in construction is a plus

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay- $ 25 - $ 32 /Hourly *Depending on Experience
