Job summary

Peck Striping, a proven leader in traffic control, road striping and signage, seeks a Construction Project Coordinator in the Salt Lake City area to manage scheduling and field coordination.

The role requires strong scheduling, communication, and organizational skills; you will coordinate with contractors, foremen and crews while handling multiple tasks. In-field training is provided to learn state specs and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Valid, unexpired driver's license and clean MVR.
  • CDL Class A preferred but not required.
  • 5–10 years of scheduling experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in the field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Schedule and organize all jobs with Contractors and foremen.
  • Perform regular basic computer tasks using PCs, laptops, printers, scanners.
  • Enter data into the company database and retrieve job information.
  • Communicate effectively by phone and in person; multitask across projects.
  • Follow safety regulations and company policies; maintain priorities.
  • Remind employees of scheduled jobs via email/text/phone.
  • Assist in solving field issues and train foremen to coordinate with contractors.
  • Understand bid parameters to meet or beat bid expectations.

Job description

Peck Striping: A proven leader in traffic control, road striping and traffic signs is seeking a dynamic and passionate Construction Project Coordinator. A successful candidate must have strong scheduling skills and experience, be able to schedule and coordinate various types of jobs.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and organize all jobs with Contractors and foremen.
  • Perform regular basic computer skills; ability to use PC’s, laptops, printers, scanners, copy machine, etc.
  • Performs data input as required on internal computer terminals and views/collects all job information from company database.
  • Strong communication, phone etiquette, and interpersonal skills.
  • Pays attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to read and understand bid parameters and contracts.
  • Enjoys hard work, is self-motivated, and has a good work ethic.
  • Ability to be self-directed as a scheduler.
  • Communicates well and gets along well with others.
  • Able to follow all safety regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Remind employees of scheduled jobs/appointments via emails, texting or phone calls.
  • Assist in problem-solving potential issues related to the field.
  • Assist and train foremen to communicate effectively with Contractors when they are approached on the job.
  • Train foremen to understand bid parameters to either meet or beat the bid.
  • Other tasks as needed.
Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of prior scheduling experience preferred.

  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality

  • Must be able to work in the field as needed
Additional Information

This job will require in-the-field training with our sign install crew. This will prepare the coordinator to fully understand the parameters of the job and learn the state-required specs for the work being performed. We adhere to UDOT, ASTM, and MUTCD specs for road construction, pavement markings, and signage. The coordinator will conduct occasional on-site inspections of the work being performed and assess the crew, ensuring they understand and are adhering to the specifications.
