Job summary

JRM Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to oversee change orders, coordinate subcontractors, and manage project documentation with a high degree of independence. You will understand financial, administrative, and logistical elements and support internal teams and client communications.

You will lead change orders, pricing reviews, schedules, and close-out activities, while mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Proficient to advanced knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project logistics.
• Solid understanding of subcontract scopes, sequencing, and project budget impacts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Procore, MS Project; working knowledge of Timberline.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and lead through challenges.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and detail level to audience.
• Adheres to and exemplifies JRM's Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of Change Orders from inception to PO issuance with pricing review.
• Level subcontractor proposals and scopes of work, flagging discrepancies or risks.
• Manage procurement timelines and coordination of long-lead items.
• Maintain ownership of the project submittal log and escalation of critical items.
• Understand, update, and track Schedule of Events (SOE) and milestones.
• Work with the Superintendent to establish the Subcontractor Build Schedule.
• Lead the project financial close-out process, including reconciliation of POs, billing, and retention.
• Communicate with stakeholders, including leading subcontractor meetings.
• Identify and elevate potential scope or financial risks; contribute to resolutions.
• Mentor and support Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.
