JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Project Controls Specialist (REMOTE)

KBR’s Mission Technology division is seeking a Program Planning and Cost Control (PP&C) Analyst to oversee financial and contractual tracking across multiple government contract types. In this role, you will collaborate with Program Managers, Contracts, and other operational teams to ensure accurate cost management, forecasting, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong background working for a government contractor, with expertise in financial planning, cost control, and schedule management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Analyze cost trends, correct errors, and provide forward guidance to maximize revenue, control baselines, and minimize cost variances. Prepare forecasts using program resource estimates with applied rates and factors. Develop and re-baseline budgets as needed.
  2. Develop and manage price/cost estimates utilizing complex pricing concepts. Maintain Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), charge number control, and analyze program funding requirements. Track, forecast, and analyze subcontractor and vendor costs, including fees and invoices.
  3. Monitor schedules/milestones to facilitate estimates to complete and process scope changes. Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to internal and external customers per contract requirements.
  4. Collaborate with Program Management and Customer personnel to ensure financial and contractual deliverables are met. Interpret and enforce contract while tracking compliance.
  5. Lead and implement process improvement initiatives within the Finance/Program group. Contribute to the development of functional strategies and oversee global processes and procedures.
  6. Lead cross-functional teams to establish decision options, provide mentoring and training to less experienced team members, and manage multiple priorities effectively. Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex problems independently.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience (options):

  • BS/BA & 2+ years of related government contracting experience.
  • OR AA/AS & 6+ years of related government contracting experience.
  • OR High School Diploma & 10+ years of related government contracting experience.

Technical Skills/Software Expertise: COGNOS, Costpoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills).

Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen with a DOD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.

Other: Mastery of complex program management concepts (budgets, estimates to complete, project schedules, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with standard government agency reporting requirements (DOD, NASA). Working knowledge/use of COBRA.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week.

This position offers a flexible remote workplace setting. This role operates on EST/East Coast Hours of Operation.

Compensation: $64,000-$96,200. The salary range posted is based on the average. The offered rate will be based on the candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, contract affordability, and internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other incentives per internal policy or contractual level. Additional compensation may include sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
