Job summary

HDR, Inc. in New York, NY, is seeking a Project Controls professional to shape schedules, cost estimates, and metrics for complex engineering and construction initiatives within HDR's Transportation Business Group.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years' project controls experience, and US employment authorization (visa sponsorship not available). On-site in New York City preferred.

Job description

As part of HDR's Transportation Business Group, you will help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Your work will support economic vitality, public safety, and sustainable communities.

Responsibilities
  • Establish WBS and develop and maintain complex project schedules for various phases of the project.
  • Coordinate with necessary team members.
  • Develop and monitor project metrics.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings.
  • Conduct project site visits if applicable.
  • Conduct schedule baseline and schedule update reviews.
  • Develop cost estimates.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control and project reports.
  • Strong decision‑making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple long‑ and short‑term tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to become an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.
  • US employment authorization is required; Sponsorship (visa) not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering.
  • Certifications (one or more): PSP, PMP, PE, CM, EVP, PMI-SP, CST.
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Prior experience with an A/E/C firm.
