Job summary

Zachry Group in Hammond, Indiana is seeking a Project Controls Specialist I to support major industrial and energy projects. You will plan, schedule, monitor budgets, forecast progress, and prepare reports with project managers and engineering teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years in project controls within energy/oil&gas/chemicals industries.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent.
• Monitor progress against baseline schedules and budgets.
• Support cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project controls reports for management and client review.
• Analyze schedule impacts, critical path, and recovery plans.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to collect progress data.
• Review subcontractor and vendor schedule submissions.
• Identify risks and opportunities affecting schedule and cost.
• Support change management assessments for schedule and cost.
• Participate in project reviews and provide improvement recommendations.
• Develop dashboards, performance metrics, and management reports.
