Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to oversee financial health and operational efficiency of complex engineering projects within the Tool Install design space. You will manage cost accounting, billing, and financial reporting from inception to close‑out.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience with project controls in engineering/construction, and familiarity with Deltek/Vantagepoint, Primavera, or SAP PS. Competitive salary with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with focus in Accounting or Finance.
• Progressive experience in project control, accounting, or cost accounting in engineering/construction projects.
• Proficiency in Excel with detailed formulas, pivot tables, charts; VBA a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive).
• Experience with scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, Oracle Primavera, SAP PS is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects in Deltek Vantagepoint with phase structure, billing terms, rate tables, revenue methods, and budget loading at discipline/labor level.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections with project teams.
• Implement and oversee WBS and cost coding for accurate reporting.
• Establish financial baselines and reporting frameworks for high-technology projects.
• Identify cost overruns, variances, and risks; provide timely reports.
• Maintain and manage detailed project schedules.
• Review vendor proposals and issue POs with procurement.
• Support internal audits related to project finances; provide documentation.
• Analyze cost impact of schedule changes and delays; present implications.
• Generate complex project financial reports: budget vs actual, cash flow, variance, EV (if applicable).
• Review client invoices for accuracy and discuss with PM and PAC.
