Our team in the US is growing. We are recruiting for a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support the delivery of a Minerals and Metals project on a 6-month term. This is a project-assigned, on-site role working closely with the Project Manager, engineering, procurement, construction and other project stakeholders.

This opportunity suits a hands-on project controls professional who can provide reliable cost and schedule information, identify emerging risks and trends, and help the project team make timely decisions throughout execution.

About the Role
  • Establish, implement and maintain project-specific cost control, progress measurement, forecasting and reporting processes in line with Ausenco standards and project requirements.
  • Work directly with the Project Manager and project team to monitor performance against the approved scope, budget, schedule and execution plan.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost breakdown structures, commitments, actual costs, estimates to complete and estimates at completion; investigate and explain variances.
  • Coordinate with Planning/Scheduling to align cost forecasts, progress updates, key milestones and schedule impacts, and support integrated project reporting.
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, contractor and construction progress, validate reported quantities and identify potential impacts to cost and schedule.
  • Maintain the project change register and support identification, evaluation, approval and incorporation of scope changes, trends and variations into forecasts.
  • Prepare timely project controls reports, cash-flow forecasts, dashboards and management updates, highlighting performance, risks, opportunities and required actions.
  • Coordinate with project leads, procurement, contractors and subcontractors to track purchase orders, commitments, invoices and commercial changes.
  • Support project risk reviews, mitigation planning and recovery actions, including analysis of schedule delays and their cost implications.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent project data in applicable controls systems and support project close-out reporting and cost reconciliation.
About You

  • Strong practical capability in cost management, budgeting, forecasting, progress measurement, change control and project reporting.

  • Experience coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction teams, clients, vendors and contractors.
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Oracle, SAP and project controls platforms such as EcoSys or similar tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong commitment to safety, accuracy, accountability and established project execution processes.
