Job Summary/Purpose
The Sr. Manager, Project Controls provides intrusive oversight of large, complex projects by establishing and leading project assurance, reporting, and training programs that drive predictability and efficiency in project delivery at Entergy. This position provides oversight and support for Entergy's Stage Gate Process (SGP) and project management standards - ensuring standardization and continuous improvement in project delivery across Entergy's transmission business unit. The Sr. Manager, Project Controls provides deep subject matter expertise (SME) to transmission project teams, project controls team, aids in project business case development, and lessons learned to achieve the requirements of Entergy's Stage Gate Process (SGP) and project management and controls standards. Works directly with Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure projects are delivered with cost and schedule certainty. Manages risks and risk management issues to ensure risks are identified and mitigated. Works directly with Project Teams to ensure alignment with Stage Gate Process and to ensure that proper project controls are being implemented. Works with Project Team to ensure costs are managed; change control is established and controlled; and that contingency is properly controlled.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management or applicable course of study or related work experience. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
10+ years plus capital project development and management experience. (Large, complex, utility capital project experience essential. 5+ Experience in the management and control of large, complex utility capital projects with an EPC or Engineering firm is desired.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Knowledge and experience in the management and control of large, complex utility capital projects.
