Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provide analytical schedule support for Sr. Project Controls Schedulers, Project Managers, Managers of Projects, and Directors. Ensure adherence to standard milestone reporting, policies, programs, processes, and scheduling protocols. Responsible for developing status and analyzing detailed critical path schedules, workload, and resource forecasts using computer applications such as Primavera P6, Project View (ComEd and PECO), Hyperion System, Asset Suite 8, Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc. Support project closeout processes and develop reports to identify closeout issues. Identify project/program milestones and schedule issues early, contributing to resolutions for successful project execution. Ensure project schedules are properly baselined at each phase approval. May require extended hours for storm coverage or energy emergencies.

Primary Duties

  • Build reports, earned value metrics, and schedules to assist in work execution; revise schedules to recover missed milestones, project changes, and emergent events. Develop and report earned value, CPI, and SPI indicators. (25%)
  • Create Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and portfolio views of all projects. Provide resource loading and utilization reports. Update schedule status regularly. (20%)
  • Assist with developing and updating standard schedule templates. Make updates in scheduling tools to support project needs. (10%)
  • Participate in project team meetings, including financial forecasting to align schedule and costs. (10%)
  • Interface with other departments, represent Project Management/Controls, and promote diversity and inclusion. (10%)
  • Ensure all projects are properly statused, placed in service, and closed out timely. Develop detailed critical path schedules regularly. (10%)
  • Perform workload and union impact analysis; forecast resource needs. (5%)
  • Provide 24/7 on-call scheduling support for emergent projects. (5%)
  • Participate in field job walk downs. (5%)

Job Scope

Regular contact with employees in Project Management, Field Organizations, Operations, DSO, and TSO. Interface with category owners, resource management, and financial management as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Technical Field
  • 2-4 years related experience, or 3-6 years relevant experience without degree
  • Ability to build schedules from estimates, diagrams, or verbal scope
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, Asset Suite 8, Primavera P6
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Effective interfacing with management at all levels
  • Ability to facilitate project meetings in office or field
  • Flexible hours and field work capability
  • Conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years scheduling experience in electric/gas transmission, distribution, or substation industry
  • Scheduler Certification (PMI-SP, AACEI), Project View experience (ComEd, PECO)
  • Experience with P6 or Unifier
