Jerritt Canyon is seeking a seasoned Project Controls Manager to lead the controls functions for capital, sustaining, and infrastructure projects within a mining operation. You will drive planning, scheduling, cost forecasting, risk management, and reporting to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
Working with Restart, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Operations leaders, you will set controls standards, manage governance, and develop capabilities to improve project performance
The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.
The Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading and managing all project controls functions for capital, sustaining, and infrastructure projects across the operation. This position provides strategic leadership and oversight of project planning, scheduling, cost management, forecasting, reporting, risk management, and change control processes to ensure successful project execution and alignment with business objectives.
Working closely with the Restart Manager, Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Operations leadership, the Project Controls Manager establishes project controls standards, drives accountability across project teams, identifies risks and opportunities, and delivers critical decision-support information to senior leadership. This role is responsible for developing project controls capabilities, improving project performance, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within approved budgets.
