Job summary

McCarl's Technical Services is seeking an experienced Project Control Specialist to support our Project Delivery team. This role focuses on cost and schedule management across a portfolio of complex industrial projects, including refining and petrochemicals.

You will help develop budgets, forecasts, and monthly cost reporting while collaborating with project managers and finance. Successful candidates will have 5+ years in project controls, strong CPM scheduling knowledge (Primavera), ERP

Qualifications

• 5+ years related project controls work experience on Refining / Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Metals, or engineering capital projects.
• 10+ years of project controls experience in place of degree.
• Experience with large capital programs and EPC multi-group schedules.
• Experience managing contractor relationships and ERP systems.
• Experience with Primavera scheduling products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work in a team with strong organizational skills.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create and work within CBS-WBS structures.
• Provide operational support to Project Managers and project teams through the project lifecycle.
• Create project budgets from as-sold estimates.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Finance & Accounting on financial reporting and forecasting.
• Analyze and report cost variances, cash flow forecasting, and resource planning.
• Maintain resource loaded project schedules.
• Lead schedule reviews with site staff, project engineers, and client representation.
• Define progress reporting rules of credit for projects.
• Analyze and report schedule impacts.
• Track critical activities and changes to the critical path.
• Able to run critical path reports and support the project team in critical path analysis.
• Able to coordinate multiple sources of schedule inputs into a master schedule.
