Job summary

S&B is seeking a Project Controls Manager to lead planning, scheduling, auditing, cost control, risk management, and reporting across EPC/Alliance projects. You will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and align with contractual and organizational requirements, while guiding the project controls team working with PMs, engineering, procurement, subcontracts and construction.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project controls on large-scale industrial projects, strong Primavera P6 skills,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project controls within EPC/Alliance or large-scale industrial projects.
Strong expertise in cost engineering, scheduling (Primavera P6), earned value management, and risk analysis.
Proficiency with project controls software (EcoSys, Prism, SAP, Primavera, MS Project, Omega 365).
Deep understanding of EPC/Alliance contracts (lump sum, cost reimbursable, unit rate) and financial controls.
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of project controls strategies, procedures, and tools for EPC/Alliance projects.
Oversee planning, scheduling, cost management, risk analysis, and change management activities.
Establish and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and project coding structures.
Ensure accurate cost forecasting, trend analysis, and earned value reporting.
Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, resource loading, and progress tracking.
Manage monthly reporting cycles and produce executive-level project performance dashboards.
Facilitate change management processes, evaluating cost and schedule impacts of scope changes and variations.
Work with project managers to identify risks and opportunities, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with contracts, procurement, and finance to ensure alignment of cost and schedule reporting.
Provide leadership and mentoring to project controls staff (cost engineers, schedulers, auditors, planners and risk analysts).
Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls standards, tools, and best practices across the organization.
Represent project controls in client and executive meetings, ensuring transparency and credibility of project performance data.
