Job summary

S&B is seeking a Project Controls Manager to lead planning, scheduling, auditing, cost control, risk management, and reporting across EPC/Alliance projects. You will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and align with contractual and organizational requirements, while guiding the project controls team working with PMs, engineering, procurement, subcontracts and construction.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in project controls on large-scale industrial projects, strong Primavera P6 skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project controls within EPC/Alliance or large-scale industrial projects.
• Strong expertise in cost engineering, scheduling (Primavera P6), earned value management, and risk analysis.
• Proficiency with project controls software (EcoSys, Prism, SAP, Primavera, MS Project, Omega 365).
• Deep understanding of EPC/Alliance contracts (lump sum, cost reimbursable, unit rate) and financial controls.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of project controls strategies, procedures, and tools for EPC/Alliance projects.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, cost management, risk analysis, and change management activities.
• Establish and maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and project coding structures.
• Ensure accurate cost forecasting, trend analysis, and earned value reporting.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, resource loading, and progress tracking.
• Manage monthly reporting cycles and produce executive-level project performance dashboards.
• Facilitate change management processes, evaluating cost and schedule impacts of scope changes and variations.
• Work with project managers to identify risks and opportunities, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with contracts, procurement, and finance to ensure alignment of cost and schedule reporting.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to project controls staff (cost engineers, schedulers, auditors, planners and risk analysts).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls standards, tools, and best practices across the organization.
• Represent project controls in client and executive meetings, ensuring transparency and credibility of project performance data.
