Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an Engineering Intern to support standard engineering tasks within the Construction market. You will assist lead engineers, apply established design techniques, and help correct and update designs on diverse projects.

The internship requires pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and prior internship experience is preferred. It offers full-time schedule and a 5% travel expectation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related experience preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks using standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with various project duties and design updates.
• Correct and update engineering designs as required.
• Support Construction market activities including safety, estimating, pre-construction, field operations, quality and project management.
