Job summary

Avalanche Energy, a Washington-based startup, seeks a Project Engineer / Project Manager to own the Integrated Master Schedule and risk registers within the PMO & Systems Engineering team. You will drive long-range planning, sync near-term data with the future plan, and coordinate with engineering, operations, and vendors to enable schedule-driven decisions.

The role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong communication, and experience in aerospace/defense or energy-related environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–7 years in project management, program controls, or project engineering in engineering-heavy environments.
• Hands-on experience with integrated master scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of program management review processes, schedule performance analysis, and earned value concepts.
• Ability to understand project scope and engineering constraints and communicate with leads effectively.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build, own, and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
• Own and maintain the programmatic risk register and support risk assessments.
• Establish a regular schedule sync between near-term execution data and the long-range plan.
• Collect and present project performance data for PMR cadence.
• Collect and track performance data from test execution, procurement, and operations.
• Identify variances and risks, and coordinate with leads on mitigation.
• Plan for long-lead systems including procurement sequencing and dependencies.
• Develop and maintain long-range budget projections and cost-to-complete estimates.
• Produce program status reports for leadership and external audiences.
