Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Project Controls Engineer in Los Angeles to support our project controls program, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery across multiple projects. You will work on prime contract management, scheduling, cost control and change management, partnering with expert teams to analyze data and drive efficient outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 3+ years in construction/project controls, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls.
• Experience with complex scheduling and cost control processes.
• Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes contract management records to provide technical advice and project control guidance.
• Assists with cost controls reporting and reconciliation for one District or Mega Project, providing reports to the Project Controls Director for Division-level summaries.
• Supports the scheduling process for District or Mega Projects, including bid phase, project schedule creation, monthly reporting, and schedule updates.
• Aids in the integration of company systems to track, monitor, and control costs or schedules, ensuring accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
• Conducts regular project reviews and monitors job cost reports against KPIs.
• Coordinates with the Division Claims/Contract Manager to track and monitor change order and claims preparation and resolution.
