Qualifications

Job description

Overview

With 30 years of experience, Charah Solutions, Inc. is a leading provider of environmental and maintenance services to the power generation industry, with operations in coal-fired and nuclear power generation sites across the country. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Charah Solutions assists utilities with all aspects of managing and recycling ash byproducts generated from the combustion of coal in the production of electricity as well as routine power plant maintenance and outage services for coal and nuclear energy providers. The company also designs and implements solutions for ash pond management and closure, landfill construction, fly ash and slag sales, and structural fill projects.

This position is primarily responsible for quality standard adherence, quality tracking & reporting policy & procedure adherence, P6 schedule development & maintenance, and cost/resource tracking & reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to read and analyze project plans and specifications
  • Review contract requirements and adhere to QA/QC programs and project quality standards
  • Daily tracking of construction activities and reporting to ensure quality standards are enforced and maintained
  • Ability to develop, update, and maintain Level II, III and IV schedules in Primavera
  • Develop and maintain critical path studies, 3-week look ahead schedules and resource loaded schedules
  • Develop and maintain As-Built drawings and document all changes including saving and preserving all related correspondence related to changes
  • Ability to create cost and resource analysis curves with strong cost reporting skills and techniques
  • Ability to create reports, graphs and analytical data to support the quality program including daily, weekly and monthly quality reporting
  • Review cost and operations reports to assist Project Manager in job costing
  • Facilitate discussions with project management regarding quality issues and schedule forecasts
  • Understand, identify, and report on project trends and their relationship to the quality program and project schedule
  • Create procurement tracking spreadsheets with quantity curves
  • Create material receipt spreadsheets for both on-site and off-site laydown areas to ensure quality compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Four-year college degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in project controls
  • Construction industry experience required
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, and Outlook required
  • PMP certificate preferred
  • Specialized construction management training and project management training preferred
Work Environment & Conditions
  • Position requires working in an office and field setting, requiring 8+ hours per day of sitting, walking, and standing. Occasional lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, balancing
  • Ability to work additional hours and/or weekends when required
  • Some overnight travel to jobsites may be required
  • Be a motivated self-starter
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong organization skills
  • Effectively manage time addressing the comprehensive needs of your assigned projects
  • Execution-focused with the ability to take individual responsibility for delivering quality work in a deadline driven environment with a high level of precision
  • Ability to quickly analyze, interpret, and compare detailed information
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Effective communication skills to cross departments, peers, project management, and senior management
