Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support the Mining division with data systems for costs, schedules, and KPIs. The role blends programming, data visualization, and construction controls to help projects succeed across regions.

The position emphasizes accuracy, reporting, and collaboration with project teams while using tools like InEight, Power BI, Excel, Tableau, and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year in construction project controls or cost analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • P6/Primavera or data visualization certs are a plus but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience with InEight, P6, MS Project, MS Access, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Verification: verify accuracy of construction quantities and project costs.
  • Data Management: develop and maintain databases for tracking projects and data sources.
  • Financial Transactions Review: review monthly billing and payments for consistency.
  • Reporting: create EAC and KPI reports using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Assist with project data setup: tracking components, budgets, templates.
  • Participate in data reviews to align visuals and data systems.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and schedule tracking with logs and reporting.
  • Provide technical assistance with InEight, PowerBI, Excel, and MS Office.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Controls Analyst will support the Mining division by ensuring the development and maintenance of data systems to track costs, schedules, and key performance indicators. This role requires a mix of technical skills in programming, data visualization with general construction project controls knowledge to contribute to the overall success of projects across all regions.

Job Summary

The Project Controls Analyst will support the Mining division by ensuring the development and maintenance of data systems to track costs, schedules, and key performance indicators. This role requires a mix of technical skills in programming, data visualization with general construction project controls knowledge to contribute to the overall success of projects across all regions.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Verification: Collaborate with project teams to verify the accuracy and completeness of construction quantities and project costs.
  • Data Management: Develop and maintain databases for tracking ongoing construction projects and interface within data sources for data entry purposes.
  • Financial Transactions Review: Review monthly billing and payments data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all reports.
  • Reporting: Create reports on Estimate at Completion (EAC) and other Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) using data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
  • Assists with the initial setup of project data, including project tracking components, work packages, budgets, and document templates across enterprise systems.
  • Participates in periodic data reviews to ensure data systems and reporting visuals are aligned.
  • Supports project teams with data needed for budgeting, forecasting, and schedule tracking by maintaining accurate logs and assisting with reporting.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance in using tools like InEight, PowerBI, Excel, and all MS Office programs.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in construction project controls or cost analysis.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Primavera P6 Professional Project Management, Tableau Essential Training, and Data Visualization: Storytelling are a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with InEight, P6, MS Project, MS Access, and all MS Office programs.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (C, C++, Java, Perl, Raspberry Pi), web development (HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, React.js), database technologies (MySQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL), data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI), and AI applications.
