Are you ready to make a significant impact on our projects and drive financial success? As a Project Controller, you will be an integral part of our regional Project Controlling team, reporting directly to the regional Head of Project Controlling and Administration.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers to minimize commercial risks and maximize revenue and cash flow. Your responsibilities will include overseeing project financials, conducting contract reviews, ensuring quality assurance in project accounting, and recognizing revenue in line with IFRS 15 principles. You will also monitor work in progress (WIP) to keep everything on track.

This role is based at our DNV office in Houston, Texas, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site.Further details about the role-specific requirements will be shared during the interview process.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor, report, and advise on project financial status
  • Initiate timely and accurate invoicing per customer contracts and global procedures
  • Partner with the Project and conduct monthly project review meetings
  • Ensure revenue recognition aligns with IFRS 15 and project accounting principles
  • Analyze and challenge inputs from Project Managers and Line Management
  • Manage or assist with project financial records and monitor project completion
  • Monitor WIP for collectability and take proactive actions
  • Analyze projects for high-risk items and inform business controllers
  • Follow up on key operational processes like timecards and invoice processing
  • Support PMs and staff with financial queries and enhance commercial awareness
  • Maintain records for follow-up by Business Controllers, auditors, or the GSS Finance Team
  • Ensure quality and compliance of accounting transactions
  • Perform financial checks during the month-end closing phases

What is Required

  • Minimum 5 years of overall combined project accounting and finance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a finance related field, such as accounting, finance or business administration
  • Good understanding of finance management of projects, basic knowledge of project management
  • Extensive experience with excel, to include pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s
  • Ability to influence through persuasion
  • Quality driven and always looking for improvement opportunities, eager to drive continuous improvement

  • Structured work approach
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

What is Preferred

  • Knowledge of Power BI or Oracle
