Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Hybrid Project Controller within the Automation division in the US.

The role focuses on leading planning, scheduling and control for large-scale project phases, maintaining schedules and cost forecasts, and supporting tool/process improvements in planning and control. Responsibilities include supervising project execution, detailed requirement analysis, monitoring critical paths, and ensuring proper project closure per contracts.

Qualifications

• 3 years of financial or project management related experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• 5 years of financial experience in a project business (preferred)
• Experience with risk management policies and procedures and SAP Project Systems

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager by supervising project execution and performance with maintained schedule, cost, cash, and risk planning.
• Analyze project requirements with the project team and ensure essential activities are identified for realistic schedules.
• Monitor project progress and critical paths, notify deviations and provide input for resource optimization.
• Ensure project closures align with contracts and are coordinated with the Project Manager and Project Controller.

This position reports to:

Local Division Controller

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead planning, scheduling, and control efforts for all project phases of individual delivery for large size projects. Each day, you will maintain and analyze actual and forecasted schedules, cost, revenues, cash in/out, as well as risks and opportunities. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting in improving planning competence and suggesting improvements for tools and processes used in planning and control.

This role is contributing to the Automation division in the US.
You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting Project Manager by supervising project execution and performance with well-maintained schedule, cost, cash, and risk planning of individual project.

• Analyzing project requirements with the project team and checking that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to serve as a basis for developing realistic project schedules.

• Monitoring project progress and regularly analyzing project critical paths to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed to the plan, while notifying Project Managers of any deviations and providing input for optimizing resources.

• Ensuring that the individual projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers in alignment with Project Manager and Project Controller.

Qualifications for the role

Basic Qualifications

• 3 years of financial or project management related experience

• Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of financial experience in a project business

• Large project management exposure in an industrial manufacturing business or similar

• Experience or exposure with risk management policies and procedures

• SAP Project Systems experience or similar

• Cost forecasting and scheduling experience or exposure

• Self-driven personality with high motivation to work in an international company
