Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Canoga Park, CA seeks a Specialist, Project and Component Engineer to support pressurant and propellant components across defense programs. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams to ensure design, integration, testing, and production meet requirements.

The ideal candidate brings electrical engineering experience, familiarity with schematics and data acquisition, and the ability to obtain a US Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration and evaluation of electrical components (transducers, pressure switches, regulators, valves) to meet system requirements.
• Develop, review, and interpret electrical schematics and wire diagrams for component design, development, and qualification.
• Under general supervision, determine approaches to objectives using sound engineering principles.
• Develop and fabricate pressurant and propellant rocket engine components (tanks, pressure switch, regulators, transducer, valves).
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure requirements are met on time and within budget.
• Interface with project teams and technical staff to coordinate technical, schedule, and cost solutions.
• Analyze and verify product design and performance; assist in investigations of hardware/process anomalies.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to author/refine specifications, trade studies, and test plans.
