Job summary

Sika is seeking an experienced Project Chemist to join our Madison Heights, MI team. You will lead product maintenance, conduct in-depth chemical reviews, and present results to our customers, with TS Audit responsibility.

You will collaborate across functions, manage projects from ideation to implementation, and contribute to development of new materials and processes, while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of R&D experience in product formulation, ideally involving polymer compositions for automotive or industrial applications.
  • Proven track record of leading development projects from ideation to market introduction.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional project teams (e.g., EHS, Operations, Sales/Marketing) to oversee progress.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical support to manufacturing plant to assure product quality and performance.
  • Responsible for transferring new products/technologies to production.
  • Adapt existing DFMEA and set up for new modified products.
  • Evaluate new technologies, raw materials, and processes.
  • Manage product maintenance process independently.
  • Initiate technical presentations from raw material suppliers.
  • Lead TS 16949 Audit for the R&D team.
  • Perform special projects and other assignments as directed by manager.
