Job summary

Brose North America Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI, seeks a procurement specialist to manage cost-focused sourcing for high-dollar components. You will obtain quotations from NA suppliers and perform cost/value analyses in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in purchasing, with SAP and strong negotiation skills. You’ll support production through change management and lead RFQ processes through SOP and launches.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience with cost breakdown analysis and BOM.
• Knowledge of supply chain principles (JIT, JIS, Kanban).
• Understanding of international movement of goods and import/export processes.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and PM skills.
• Experience with SAP.

Responsibilities

• Support special project sourcing strategies for high-dollar components with long-term suppliers.
• Obtain cost- and quality-competitive quotations from the North American market.
• Perform cost and value analyses with other departments and product teams.
• Investigate opportunities for material substitution and alternate manufacturing processes.
• Support production through change management and economical improvements.
• Identify and document cost avoidance during project launches.
• Assist customer teams with purchasing during the project lifecycle.
• Issue RFQs before SOP, including engineering changes during launch and current production.
• Consolidate supplier proposals and establish target pricing with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in supplier selection activities within North America with Commodity Buyers.

Your Tasks

• Hybrid schedule in Auburn Hills, Michigan
• Support special project sourcing strategies for new, high-dollar, critical components with long-term preferred suppliers.
• Obtain cost- and quality-competitive quotations for required materials from the North American market.
• Perform cost and value analyses in cooperation with other departments, centers, and product teams
• Investigate opportunities for material substitution and alternative manufacturing processes to optimize costs.
• Support production through change management coordination, including technical changes to purchased parts and implementation of economical improvements.
• Identify, initiate, and document cost avoidance opportunities during the project launch phase.
• Support customer team members with purchasing activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) prior to Start of Production (SOP), including engineering changes during launch and current production.
• Consolidate supplier proposals and establish target pricing in coordination with cross-functional departments.
• Participate in supplier selection activities within North America in collaboration with Commodity Buyers.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Purchasing, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management, or project buying.
• Experience with cost breakdown analysis, cost optimization, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including value stream management, Just-in-Time (JIT), Just-in-Sequence (JIS), and Kanban.
• Understanding of international movement of goods, import/export processes, and applicable taxes.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and project management skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working with SAP.
• Business fluency in English.
