Job summary

Brose Group in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a mechanical/industrial engineer with a business minor to lead manufacturing planning and supplier collaboration. The role combines project budgeting in automotive mass production with cross-functional teamwork, and requires fluent English and practical Spanish knowledge.

You will define process flows, equipment specs, and PPAP/ISIR support, while ensuring cost control, on-time delivery, and adherence to Brose standards across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with a Business Minor.
• Four years of experience managing high-value project budgets within automotive mass production and procurement.
• Fluent English in conversation and correspondence.
• Spanish: basic knowledge is a plus.
• Strong cross-functional interfaces across multicultural teams and dispersed locations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine processes, tools, and HR requirements.
• Plan sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other operations for production workers.
• Adhere to Brose Management System and Product Development Process standards.
• Develop equipment specs and define required materials, tooling, and equipment per Brose norms.
• Establish process flow, manufacturing layout, P-FMEA, and assembly concept with plant and central planning.
• Lead technical assessments and supplier selection activities related to tooling technology.
• Support development of equipment suppliers.
• Investigate feasibility of transfer for carry-over parts/tools and make/buy decisions.
• Create standard forms and procedures for production planning.
• Support PPAP/ISIR builds at the manufacturing site.

• Develops equipment specifications and defines required materials, tooling, and equipment according to Brose norms and industry standards.
• Establish process flow, manufacturing layout, P-FMEA and assembly concept in cooperation with the manufacturing plant and central production planning.
• Leads technical assessments and supplier selection activities related to tooling technology.
• Support development of equipment suppliers.
• Investigate feasibility of transfer for carry over parts/tools and/or make/buy decisions.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with a Business Minor from four-year college or university.
• Four years of experience managing high-value project budgets within automotive industry and mass production while overseeing multiple procurement activities concurrently, ensuring cost control, on-time delivery, and successful project execution.
• English: Fluent conversation / correspondence.
• Spanish: Basic knowledge/ideal.
• Organizational cross-functional Interfaces across multicultural and geographically dispersed teams, ensuring effective collaboration, alignment of objectives, and successful project execution.
