Pennoni is hiring! We are looking for passionate Project Bridge Engineers to join our collaborative, fun team on a full-time, direct basis at our Transportation Design Hub located in Newark, DE. The role involves:

1. Performing bridge design for multi-disciplinary projects focusing on bridge design, rehabilitation, and load rating, while mentoring junior staff and providing technical oversight.
2. Managing multiple projects concurrently, including design and bridge inspections across the Mid-Atlantic region, especially Delaware and neighboring states.
3. Mentoring staff regarding performance and progress.
4. Interacting with clients about technical challenges, with opportunities for project management roles.
5. Preparing proposals, scopes of work, and man-hour estimates; some travel may be required.
6. Developing reports, specifications, and technical documents.

Required Attributes:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, Microstation, OBU, In-Roads, and GeoPak.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering focus); MS preferred.
• 7-10 years of experience.
• PE license required.
• Experience in designing bridge structures and rehabilitation challenges.
• Experience with MicroStation and Open Bridge Modeler preferred.
• Knowledge of AASHTO and state DOT design criteria, with experience with DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, DCDOT, and/or PennDOT projects.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Experience with structural analysis and design software such as SAP, STAAD, LEAP Bridge, etc.
• Leadership qualities for leading projects and mentoring engineers.

Preferred Attributes:

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural focus.
• Completion of FHWA-NHI-13005 and/or FHWA-NHI-130078 courses.
• Experience in proposal development, scope, and man-hour estimation.
• Prior load rating experience.
• Experience with BrIM/BIM modeling processes.
• Participation in professional societies is encouraged.
