Salary Range

$85k to $115k

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. The client is willing to pay more for qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities

• Design bridges as part of multidisciplinary projects, focusing on design, rehabilitation, and load rating, while mentoring junior staff and overseeing technical work.
• Manage multiple projects including design and inspections across the Mid-Atlantic, especially Delaware and nearby states.
• Mentor staff regarding performance and project progress.
• Engage with clients on technical issues, with opportunities for project management roles.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and estimates; some travel required.
• Develop reports, specifications, and technical documents.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus); MS preferred
• 7-10 years of relevant experience
• PE license required
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, MicroStation, OBU, In-Roads, GeoPak
• Experience with bridge design, rehabilitation, and load rating projects
• Knowledge of AASHTO and DOT design criteria, especially with DelDOT, MDSHA, VDOT, DCDOT, PennDOT
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Experience with structural analysis software (SAP, STAAD, LEAP, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural)
• Certifications like FHWA-NHI courses
• Experience with proposal development, load rating, BrIM/BIM modeling
• Active participation in professional societies
